This is the oldest song on the EP. It was inspired by the book of Ecclesiastes and explores the ideas of the fleeting, temporal nature of life & it's pleasures in the verses, with the chorus declaring the hope we have in the victory of Christ’s resurrection - that one day all things will be made new and have life.
lyrics
Time goes on, you can chase it but it’s moving on.
If you listen you can hear its song, trying to reach you through the darkest night.
Money talks, you can taste it, it will take your life.
If you hold it to your heart too tight, it will take away whatever it gave.
Save your vanity and grasping for the wind.
Oh at Calvary, love stood shining in.
Pour the darkness out, the Son will rise again.
Save your vanity and grasping for the wind.
People go, and too often it’s the ones we love.
It’s the moment that you realise when,
Oh we could’ve been better than we were.
‘Cause it’s everything and nothing all at once,
Oh if you forget the One, oh if you forget the One.
Save your vanity and grasping for the wind.
